Case Profiles #12

Bianca Lebron

Bianca Lebron was 10-years-old when she went missing on November 7th, 2001. Outgoing, fun, and friendly, Bianca loved to dance and sing and was always confidently the center of attention. She made friends easily and loved her family with a passion- so it wasn’t exactly out of the realm of possibilities when she told her classmates and teacher on that November morning that she was going to the mall with her uncle. Bianca’s “uncle” picked her up from school in front of all her classmates, and didn’t try to hide his face. The description of him was crystal clear, and despite being the last person ever seen with Bianca- he has never been identified. To this day, over 21 years later, Bianca is still missing.

Oranuch Sousa

In Fall River, Massachusetts on June 16th, 2001, at 1:30pm, 48-year-old Oranuch Sousa’s body was found lying in an open grassy field. She had suffered from multiple injuries to her head and her cause of death was ruled as blunt force trauma. Oranuch had been divorced for about six years from her ex-husband, 40-year-old Joseph Sousa. Several days before her murder she had contacted Joseph to meet so they could discuss their divorce arrangements, and Oranuch was going to ask Joseph for more money as she needed some extra support. The day after Oranuch was murdered, Joseph’s girlfriend came forward to police and informed them that she saw Joseph burning a pair of blood stained jeans before burying them in their backyard. In May of 2002, almost a full year after Oranuch’s body was found, investigators dug up Joseph’s backyard and found multiple objects such as motorcycle parts, clothing fibers and various fabrics. Despite being the only suspect, Joseph has never been charged with Oranuch’s murder and her case remains cold.
